Preparing for Your First Laser Hair Removal Appointment
So you've booked your first laser hair removal appointment, great choice! A little preparation beforehand helps ensure your treatment is as effective and comfortable as possible.
Shave, don't wax. In the days before your appointment, shave the treatment area rather than waxing, plucking, or using hair removal cream. Laser treatment targets the hair follicle beneath the skin, and waxing removes the follicle temporarily, meaning there's nothing for the laser to target.
Avoid sun exposure. Try to keep the treatment area out of direct sun and avoid tanning beds or self-tanning products for at least two weeks before your session. Tanned or sunburnt skin can affect how the laser interacts with your skin.
Skip certain products. Avoid applying lotion, deodorant, or makeup to the treatment area on the day of your appointment, as these can interfere with the laser.
Arrive with clean, dry skin. Come to your appointment with the treatment area freshly shaved, clean, and free of any products for the best results.
Wear comfortable clothing. Loose, comfortable clothing makes it easy to access the treatment area and stay relaxed throughout your session.
That's it! Our team will guide you through the rest. If you have any questions before your visit, call Candice on 072 299 1188.
